    Assistant Principal

I’m Sandy Wilder, currently loving life in Boulder, CO!  This is my 11th year living in Colorado.  Previously, I lived in Palm Desert, CA, where I worked as a software programmer after earning a degree in computer science in Arkansas.  I decided that although writing C++ code was challenging and fun, I wanted to pursue something more inspiring.  I ventured into teaching, where I found my passion for helping students find beauty in math.  I’ve been hooked ever since!  I taught math for nine years, then computer classes, which I discovered was a fun new challenge. This led me to obtaining a M.A. degree in Educational Technology through an online school.  Through that program I decided that I wanted to learn more about blended and online learning, which brought me to Boulder Universal.

Understanding that students pursue online learning for various reasons, my new challenge is to discover the best way of delivering online instruction to create a positive experience.  As far as non-teaching information about me, I get my thrills hanging off the side of steep cliffs (rock climbing), cycling, running, dancing, learning about other cultures, and just being outside.  I’m married to my adventurous husband Matt (a pro rock climber and CU PhD student of computer science and math), and we have an active 1 year old boy named Bayes.
